Connect to your Windows VPS via RDP
RDP from macOS, Windows, or Linux into your SilentHosts Windows VPS.
Windows VPS plans (RDP-Basic, RDP-Pro, RDP-Power) ship with a Windows Server image and full administrator RDP access. RDP works from Windows out of the box; macOS and Linux need a client.
Get your credentials
Your provisioning email contains the IPv4 address, the administrator username (Administrator), and a one-time password. From /client/services/{id} you can also see and rotate these credentials.
Connect from Windows
Press Win+R, type 'mstsc', press Enter. In the dialog, paste your VPS IPv4. Click Connect, accept the certificate warning, enter Administrator + password.
Connect from macOS
Install Microsoft Remote Desktop from the App Store (free). Add a new PC; enter the IPv4 as the PC name, save credentials. Double-click the connection.
Connect from Linux
Install rdesktop or Remmina:
apt install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp -yLaunch Remmina, create a new RDP profile, enter IPv4, Administrator, and password. Connect.
Recommended: enable Network Level Authentication (NLA)
RDP without NLA is vulnerable to certain attacks. NLA is on by default in modern Windows Server images, but verify in Server Manager → Local Server → Remote Desktop. If 'Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication' is checked, you're fine.
